This role is Hybrid requiring in-office presence 3 days per week.
The Microsoft Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the administration, security, and optimization of our Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. This role will be responsible for core services including SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Microsoft Teams, Purview, and Azure, while supporting collaboration, security, compliance, and modernization initiatives across a multi-site organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring stability, security, and service improvement.
- Manage Entra ID / Azure AD including Conditional Access, MFA, PIM, Identity Governance, SSO, SCIM provisioning, and B2B collaboration.
- Oversee Exchange Online mail flow, security, transport rules, mailbox policies, and hybrid support if needed.
- Lead governance, lifecycle management, and migrations for SharePoint Online and OneDrive.
- Administer Microsoft Teams, including policies, guest access, compliance, and Teams Phone.
- Support Purview and compliance capabilities such as DLP, sensitivity labels, retention, audit, and eDiscovery.
- Manage selected Azure services and build automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Azure automation tools.
- Deliver projects such as migrations, rollouts, tenant changes, and M&A onboarding/offboarding.
- Create documentation, monitoring, and governance standards while helping drive user adoption and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5+ years of enterprise Microsoft systems administration experience, with 3+ years focused on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID in a production environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Purview, and Azure.
- Experience delivering cloud initiatives such as migrations, Teams Phone, Purview deployments, and identity/security modernization.
- Advanced skills in PowerShell and familiarity with Microsoft Graph, automation, and scripting.
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, zero trust, least privilege, and auditability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-104, SC-300, or SC-400.
- Experience with Teams Phone, large-scale SharePoint architecture/migrations, and tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Experience in commercial real estate or other distributed, multi-site environments.
- Familiarity with KQL, Tanium, ITIL, and lifecycle automation.
The expected salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $135,000.
