Overview

A fast-growing, profitable product startup is hiring a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer to help scale a modern commerce platform. This is a high-impact role for someone who operates with strong ownership, ships quickly, and cares deeply about product quality and user experience.

The company operates in a large, under-digitized commerce category and is building infrastructure that simplifies complex transactions and logistics through both a direct product and developer API platform. The product is already used by major enterprise customers and is entering a new phase of aggressive growth.

What You'll Do

  • Own a core product domain end-to-end (architecture through delivery)
  • Design and build scalable full-stack features across web applications and APIs
  • Help scale a platform supporting complex multi-party transactions and real-world logistics workflows
  • Contribute to developer-facing APIs and platform expansion initiatives
  • Partner closely with a small, senior engineering team with high autonomy
  • Make meaningful architectural decisions with direct business impact

Tech Environment

  • Backend: Open to any modern backend language (Ruby, Node, Python, etc.)
  • Frontend: React + TypeScript
  • Database: PostgreSQL
  • Modern frontend tooling and design systems

What They're Looking For

Must Have

  • 5+ years building full-stack web applications
  • Strong experience with React and modern backend development
  • Experience building complex SPA applications and scalable APIs
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex projects from design through production
  • Ability to balance speed, quality, and reliability
  • Strong product mindset and attention to UX details

Preferred

  • Startup or high-growth company experience
  • Experience operating in small engineering teams
  • Experience with complex systems involving multiple stakeholders or workflows
