About the Company
Our client is a stealth-stage enterprise identity startup founded by a proven team that has previously built and exited a successful enterprise software company. The company is building a modern identity platform for businesses, with a strong focus on security, reliability, product quality, and excellent user experience.
The team is small, fully remote, and highly engineering-driven.
About the Role
This is a foundational infrastructure role for a small product engineering team.
You will own the company’s infrastructure architecture, tooling, reliability, and operational strategy from the ground up. This is not a point-and-click DevOps role. The team is looking for a software engineer who specializes in infrastructure and is comfortable writing production Go, owning Kubernetes, building CI/CD systems, and partnering closely with product engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Own infrastructure architecture and operations across cloud environments
- Build and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure
- Design and operate CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
- Own observability, alerting, metrics, tracing, and reliability workflows
- Support secure-by-design infrastructure decisions
- Drive capacity planning, incident response, postmortems, and runbooks
- Build reliable systems for an enterprise-scale identity platform
- Work closely with backend, product, design, and security teams
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of infrastructure, platform, or backend systems engineering experience
- Production Go experience
- Strong Kubernetes experience in production
- CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance experience
- Cloud infrastructure experience, ideally GCP or similar hyperscaler
- Infrastructure-as-code experience, ideally Terraform
- Strong software engineering fundamentals
- Collaborative mindset and excitement to work closely with product engineering
Nice to Have
- Experience as an early infrastructure hire or building infra 0→1
- Observability tooling experience
- Postgres, networking, storage, or distributed systems experience
- PKI or compliance infrastructure experience
- Enterprise SaaS, identity, security, or developer infrastructure background
