Desktop Engineer

The Desktop Engineer will be based out of the New York office and will be responsible for the development, management, implementation and support of workstations across the environment. The Desktop Engineer will work closely with colleagues and expected to contribute significantly to projects and support initiatives.


Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of the standard desktop environment and lifecycle Assess, document and implement desktop platform changes.
  • Application packaging, customization and troubleshooting.
  • Document processes for internal policies and procedures for changes and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide 3rd level investigation and resolution of desktop incidents, problems and support. Take ownership of issues and the delivery of a resolution.
  • Provide support, expert advice and guidance within desktop field of expertise including Operating Systems, applications, hardware, best practices, etc.
  • Implement necessary Group Policy Objects and Active Directory changes to support the desktop platform.
  • Research new methods for enhancing performance, reliability, optimization and overall user experience.
  • Management of workstations with System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Creation and deployment of customized Windows 10 images, applications and drivers.
  • Patch management for Operating Systems and 3rd party applications.
  • Troubleshoot and remediation of various deployment states.
  • Application packaging and customization tools such as Admin Studio, PS AppDeploy Toolkit, etc.
  • Other responsibilities as they are assigned.


Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in Desktop Engineer role, specifically with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • A college degree or equivalent certifications/work experience preferred.
  • Experience with Lenovo and Dell devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule according to business requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established timeframes.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
