Senior Client Account Manager

The Client Account Group, developed to handle highly important and sensitive client financial matters is a new addition to the firm’s Finance Department. This group will assist key partners with the financial aspects of their client relationships.


Guided by department objectives and priorities, the Sr. Client Account Manager is responsible for collaborating with attorneys, staff and clients to establish and manage finance structures that ensure the support of client specifications in invoicing and other requirements. This role will require close collaboration with billing partners, finance staff and client contacts. Working closely with the Client Account Director, this role will help define and advance the capabilities of this function by developing and implementing strategies to achieve the Firm’s billing & collection goals while ensuring client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the financial relationship. Through tactical and strategic management of client account team(s) and own individual contribution, the Sr. Client Account Manager will enhance the collection cycle through the following methods:
  • Expedite billing & collections
  • Ensure client specific needs are met, (i.e. electronic billing processes, alternative billing arrangements) while confirming internal policies and procedures are appropriately implemented and enforced
  • Anticipate outcomes, assess next steps and recommend approaches to initiating actionable improvements related to assigned portfolio


Responsibilities
  • Manage full financial relationship for designated portfolio of client matters with tact, diplomacy, and effective negotiation skills
  • Evaluate unbilled and/or accounts receivable inventory and harmonize billing, collections and financial matter management efforts with partners, attorneys and other professionals throughout the firm to ensure appropriate revenue realization while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction
  • In conjunction with attorney teams and billing professionals, work to ensure a full understanding of client guidelines and compliance with those guidelines
  • Fully engage with partners to advise and resolve complex billing, collections, client reporting and financial matter management issues
  • Establish, foster, and maintain professional, credible, and collaborative relationships with attorneys, staff and clients to ensure accounts support both attorney and client specifications
  • Develop analysis and research related to assigned portfolios, providing concise, detail-based documentation, statistics, and recommendations
  • Communicate, manage and track deliverables of Client Account Analyst(s) and provide on-going training, mentoring, and coaching of same
  • Establish effective cross-training and knowledge transfer procedures to ensure seamless support for all portfolio matters


Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or 10-15 years’ experience in related discipline required
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze, identify, and communicate results to the team
  • Ability to multitask and meet stringent deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as taking ownership for individual assignments is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present results to senior management
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with a strong background in Excel
  • Experience with Elite and/or business intelligence products
