End User Systems Engineer

The Global End User Systems Engineer will provide day-to-day administration and support for Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp. This includes installing, configuring and monitoring the environment.  As usage of Citrix expands, the Global End User Systems Engineer will also work to design expansion of environment and work with the Networking team on server specifications.  The role will also be involved in other aspects of the team, such as SCCM, mobile device management and image creation.

  • Maintain and support Windows images in Citrix, as well as physical laptops and desktops
  • Install, configure, test and deploy XenApps to users
  • Implement, design and maintain Citrix XenDesktop, and Xen App
  • Responsible for the XenDesktop and XenApps production and disaster recovery environments, ensuring effective service delivery and adherence to installation standards, procedures and best practices, including those established by the world-wide IT department
  • Assist with development of procedures, policies and standards for virtual desktop and virtual applications, including maintenance and disaster recovery
  • Work well with the rest of the team to provide 3rd IT level assistance for Windows OS, mobile devices and software issues, SCCM, Images, End User security, mobile devices, patching and the overall End User Systems portfolio
  • Document operating procedures regarding all software, and configurations
  • Liaise with IT departments and vendors to support various requests
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the hardware and software configuration, the application portfolio, procedures and practices
  • Ensure top quality IT services are attainable with available resources
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate them to the appropriate internal or external service provider
  • Continuously contribute to the knowledge base of the IT team by updating them with new issues raised and new resolutions or interim workarounds found

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of related experience including responsibility managing and implementing Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp
  • Expertise in virtual environments, Microsoft operating systems and applications
  • In depth knowledge of large scale rollouts in an environment of 3000+ users
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working with employees at all levels including senior management
  • Good Judgment
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
