Strategic Pricing Director

The Strategic Pricing Director is responsible for enhancing and building capabilities to streamline the pricing and matter budgeting process across all legal practice groups. The Director will also be responsible for managing and leveraging historical data and insights to create legal matter budgets for internal teams and external clients.


Responsibilities
  • Provide advice and counsel to attorneys in connection with the development, evaluation, and execution of task-based matter budgets and alternative fee arrangements
  • Partner with practice group leaders to design, develop and implement customized budgeting and pricing solutions that meet our clients’ specific business needs
  • Identify and implement solutions that leverages various data sources to improve the firm’s matter planning and budgeting operations
  • Serve as the lead product manager for the firm’s matter budgeting, monitoring and reporting platforms. Duties to include, but not limited to: roadmap development, requirements gathering workflow redesign, testing, user training and user adoption
  • Work with client relationship partners and other firm leaders to effectively use matter budget analytics to enhance client stewardship meetings and other client interactions
  • Ability to work across practice teams to assist in developing an LPM framework and further advance the framework to the firm
  • Provide on-going training, mentoring, and coaching to pricing team
  • Ability to work independently to complete projects and perform the necessary follow-ups as necessary
  • Take ownership over aspects of new implementations and process improvements


Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Legal related discipline required
  • 6+ years of experience in pricing, budgeting, estimating, project management, and financial analysis for law firms or other professional services organizations
  • 3+ years of supervising high performing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze, identify, and communicate results to the team
  • Ability to multitask and meet stringent deadlines. Attention to detail is essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as taking ownership for individual assignments is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present results to senior management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with a strong background in Excel
  • Experience with databases and/or business intelligence products
