Infrastructure Specialist

Seeking an Infrastructure Specialist for our team in downtown NYC. Individual will be multi-disciplined and have hands-on technical expertise in managing, maintaining, installing and configuring the SAN storage infrastructure (HP), Microsoft Windows servers and Virtualization.


Qualifications
  • 7+ year’s technical experience supporting large infrastructures
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception to completion
  • High proficiency with SAN technology, such as HPE 3PAR
  • High proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware)
  • High proficiency Windows Server 2008/12/16 in addition Active Directory
  • Demonstrated ability to architect, manage and secure high capacity network storage
  • Knowledge of applicable data retention practices and best practices
  • A demonstrated ability to establish, follow and document technology builds, best practices and standards
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation capabilities
  • Flexibility to travel with short notice
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, nights, weekends and participate in a rotating on-call schedule
  • ITIL Certified preferred
  • MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server) preferred
  • VCP (VMware Certified Professional) preferred


Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of long-term vision, strategy, and roadmaps for storage (SAN) platform, dependent servers (physical/virtual) and databases across the organization in conjunction with company objectives
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft-driven server technologies Windows 2008/12/16 and Active Directory
  • Design, manage, maintain, install, configure and operate the Virtualization (VMware) environment across multiple sites including the datacenter
  • Manage storage backups, data replication and snapshots in a multiprotocol environment
  • Design redundant systems and policies for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets
  • Perform capacity planning analysis and other needs assessments to inform storage architecture strategy
  • Establish strategies for storage consolidation, centralization, and optimization to reduce downtime and costs while improving security and storage performance/availability
  • Research, recommend and implement additional systems to improve performance and stability
  • Maintain current knowledge of storage-related trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices. Develop strategies and policies to ensure best-practice based regulatory compliance and reduce the enterprise’s legal exposure
  • Respond as the Storage SME escalation point for Support Desk personnel
  • Adhere to ITIL service management principles as well as corporate policies
  • Serve part as part an on-call rotation
