Application Support Specialist - Citrix (Fulltime | Remote)

Parsippany, NJ


The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for the design, customization, support and maintenance of all software applications for multiple office locations of one of the top law firms on the east coast.  Under general supervision, the individual will perform software installations and upgrades, plan, configure and maintain Windows server environments, including configuring and managing Citrix policies, profiles, resource allocation, implementing and managing Citrix updates, patches and upgrades.  The successful candidate will have a high level of interpersonal and technical skills, must enjoy staying abreast of new technologies as well as possess analytical capabilities and have a passion for providing the best service to end users.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provides primary technical ownership of the firm's software applications
  • Understand concepts of layered infrastructure security (firewalls, DMZ, IDS, virus protection, network segmentation & authentication, monitoring, logging, alerts)
  • Ability to build and deploy Citrix VDI, XenApp disks
  • Perform Citrix XenApp administration such as server generation, application install/testing, applications reporting, determining application assignment, or similar
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft Teams, OneLogin, Group Policy, Resilio, Cylance
  • Ability to Troubleshoot (L3) Citrix Issues post migration
  • Coordinates, documents and manages software upgrades
  • Manages server backups, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity plans to mitigate potential risks
  • Documents application customizations in such a way that the firm is able to identify the current status of the application, its underlying infrastructure and utilize the documentation as a basis for training curriculum development
  • Troubleshoots application errors and coordinates vendor support where necessary – follows through until problem is resolved
  • Keeps current environment updated and functioning efficiently, securely, highly performing, highly available and plans for disaster recovery
  • Prioritizes, identifies, researches and resolves technical problems

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Citrix Studio, Citrix Director, MCS, PVS, App Layering, FAS, Cloud Connectors, FSLogix
  • Basic Project Management skills
  • Ability to install, maintain and upgrade third party custom software solutions
  • Understand hardware requirements, write technical specifications and documentation
  • Experience with Root-Cause Analysis, strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to multitask and bring assigned tasks to completion
  • Good Scripting Knowledge using PowerShell
  • Prior experience in legal or financial services preferred
