PR and Communications team helps to shape and enhance the firm’s reputation through proactive storytelling, thought leadership and strategic outreach. We are seeking a talented and motivated Communications and Social Media Specialist to join our team to help elevate digital presence. Reporting to the Public Relations Manager, the Communications and Social Media Specialist will play a key role in managing social media strategy, ensuring consistent and engaging content across platforms. The role requires expertise in social media trends, content creation and analytics to grow the firm’s online presence and support communications efforts across various channels. In addition, the Communications and Social Media Specialist supports the Marketing and Business Development team, as well as other departments, by developing, editing and repurposing content for distribution across PR, social media, website, marketing and internal messaging platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work with PR Manager and Head of Global Comms to develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase engagement and visibility for firm's brand and key initiatives.
- Manage day-to-day posting, scheduling and optimization across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and others.
- Ensure all content aligns with firm's voice, values, and overall communications strategy.
- Collaborate with internal teams to create engaging and visually appealing content including graphics, videos, articles and other multimedia formats.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar, ensuring timely and relevant posts that support firmwide campaigns and initiatives.
- Write compelling social media copy and headlines to drive engagement and traffic.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance across platforms, utilizing analytics tools to trach engagement, audience growth and campaign effectiveness.
- Prepare regular reports and insights for leadership, highlighting key metrics and suggesting improvements or adjustments.
- Work closely with the communications, marketing and business development teams, as well as other departments, to align social media efforts with broader firm objectives and client initiatives.
- Collaborate with and support the communications and PR team on key initiatives and projects.
- Champion the firm's brand on social media, ensuring consistency in messaging and protecting the firm’s reputation across digital platforms.
- Stay up to date on legal industry trends, competitor activity, and best practices to ensure the firm maintains a strong presence in social media communications.
- Act as primary point of contact for outside photographer, scheduling and maintaining calendar for headshots, videos and other required photography.
- Support the team on other special projects as needed.
- Other responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time.
The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $80,000 to $105,000
Qualifications
- BS or BA degree in marketing, communications or related field preferred.
- Previous experience with a major law firm or professional services organization.
- 2+ years of experience in social media management.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and social media management tools.
- Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Strong oral communication skills with the ability to interact with lawyers and other professionals effectively.
- Solid understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with paid social media campaigns and digital advertising.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and how to optimize social media content for search.
- Understand style guidelines and know how to copyedit and proofread their own and others’ work with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
- Flexible team player with a can-do approach, ability and willingness to learn new skills, and ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Be able to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
- Be flexible and available to work overtime as needed.
