About the Role
This is not a traditional legal or engineering role.
As our first Legal Engineer, you’ll operate at the intersection of SaaS implementation, IP strategy, data transformation, and customer partnership. You will lead end-to-end customer implementations — from extracting messy legacy data to delivering a fully configured, optimized platform environment.
You’ll play a foundational role in shaping how this function scales as the company grows.
What You’ll Do
- Lead 5–15 concurrent SaaS implementations
- Run scoping sessions with enterprise stakeholders
- Map workflows and translate business requirements into system configurations
- Clean, normalize, and migrate large IP datasets
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success
- Serve as the “voice of the customer” internally
- Improve and standardize implementation processes
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years in SaaS implementation, professional services, consulting, or legal ops
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data cleanup)
- SQL proficiency and comfort manipulating datasets
- Ability to manage enterprise stakeholders and navigate complex organizations
- Strong communication skills — able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- High ownership and comfort in fast-moving startup environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with IP management platforms
- Automation experience (APIs, scripts, low-code tools)
- Familiarity with IP data, technology transfer, or legal operations
