We’re working with a profitable, fast-growing fintech startup transforming access to credit for consumers traditionally underserved by the financial system. This is a high-impact opportunity to join a lean engineering team where you’ll own backend systems end-to-end and ship production code quickly.

About the Role

You’ll work on backend systems that power financial products used by thousands of customers. Engineers here operate with high autonomy, contribute to architecture decisions, and help scale systems as the company continues to grow.

The team values pragmatic engineers who can balance speed, scalability, and reliability while working in a fast-moving product environment.

What You’ll Do

• Own backend services from design through deployment
• Build scalable APIs and services powering financial products
• Design and implement backend architecture on AWS
• Ship production code frequently while maintaining quality
• Make pragmatic technical tradeoffs between speed and scalability
• Help define engineering best practices
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams

Experience with similar stacks is welcome.

What They’re Looking For

• 3+ years backend engineering experience
• Experience building backend systems at a startup or fast-moving product company
• Strong experience with Node.js or Python
• Experience building APIs and scalable services
• AWS or similar cloud experience
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments

Nice to Have

• Fintech or payments experience
• Experience with AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.)
• Experience working at early-stage startups
• Experience scaling backend systems

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $180K–$250K
