Founding Product Manager (AI-Native Builder)
Remote (US) | ~3 days/month in Austin, TX
$170-250K base + meaningful equity
About the Role
This is one of the most important hires the company will make.
The team has never had a product manager before. Now, with a growing engineering org and strong traction, they’re hiring their first product leader to define how product gets built.
This is not a roadmap-management role.
You’ll own the product end-to-end — from idea → prototype → shipped feature.
You’ll help transition the platform from traditional SaaS workflows into agentic, AI-powered automation for B2B operations.
If you want ownership, speed, and the ability to actually build — this is that role.
What You’ll Do
- Own the product lifecycle end-to-end: discovery, prototyping, specs, shipping, and iteration
- Build and test AI/LLM-powered workflows (not just plan them)
- Use tools like Cursor, v0, Lovable, Builder.io to prototype working solutions quickly
- Design and run experiments (A/B tests, eval frameworks, multi-arm bandits)
- Work deeply with engineering to define scope, timelines, and technical feasibility
- Talk to customers and translate real problems into shipped features
- Create clear specs, documentation, and internal alignment
- Drive the shift from UI-driven SaaS to agentic, outcome-based systems
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)
- 3–7 years of product experience in a startup or high-growth environment
- Have shipped AI/LLM-powered features into production
- Actively use AI tools (Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, v0, etc.) to prototype and build
- Strong technical fluency (APIs, data architecture, system design)
- Experience in 0→1 or highly experimental product environments
- Data-driven — can design and evaluate experiments, not just ship features
- Comfortable operating without heavy structure, design teams, or layers
- US-based, able to travel to Austin ~3 days/month
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience at an AI-native or AI-first company (last 3–4 years)
- Background in fintech, payments, AR, or B2B workflows
- Technical degree (CS, engineering, math) or equivalent depth
- Experience with agentic workflows or automation systems
- Built prototypes or internal tools independently
Why Join
- First product hire — define the entire product function
- ~$5M ARR business with strong growth and near-zero churn
- On track to double revenue this year
- Small, high-performing team (~30 people, engineering-heavy)
- Real AI-native product work — not “AI features” bolted on
- High ownership, high velocity, no bureaucracy
- Competitive comp + meaningful equity
