A leading consumer wellness app with tens of millions of users is hiring a Head of Data Analytics to own and evolve the company’s data function across product, growth, marketing, and executive decision-making.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate as a true player-coach: managing a small data team, partnering closely with Product and Marketing, and still getting close enough to the data to drive meaningful business insights.
The company operates with the speed and autonomy of a startup, while backed by the stability of a large public healthcare organization. The product is already loved by millions globally, and the team is now expanding beyond content into a broader integrated care platform focused on sleep and wellness.
What You’ll Do
- Own the data analytics function across platform, people, roadmap, and strategy.
- Partner with Product, Growth, Marketing, and executive leadership to turn data into clear business decisions.
- Manage and develop a small team of data scientists / analysts while remaining hands-on where needed.
- Own core consumer and subscription metrics, including installs, trials, trial-to-paid conversion, retention, churn, LTV, CAC, ROAS, and renewal behavior.
- Support experimentation across onboarding, pricing, content, growth, and product experiences.
- Lead product analytics strategy, including event taxonomy, instrumentation, funnel analysis, cohort analysis, retention curves, and feature adoption.
- Partner with growth and marketing teams on attribution, UA measurement, paid acquisition analytics, and campaign performance.
- Help improve the company’s data platform, dashboards, semantic layer, and self-service analytics capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to use AI/LLM tools for reporting, anomaly detection, natural-language querying, automation, and internal workflow improvements.
What We’re Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in data analytics, product analytics, growth analytics, or a closely related function.
- Experience leading or managing a small team, ideally in a player-coach capacity.
- Strong consumer product analytics experience; mobile app experience is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of subscription metrics, funnel optimization, cohort analysis, trial conversion, LTV, churn, retention, CAC, ROAS, and experimentation.
- Experience supporting Product, Marketing, Growth, and/or executive stakeholders.
- Strong SQL skills and comfort working with modern analytics/data tools such as BigQuery, dbt, Python, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, Tableau, Looker, AppsFlyer, Adjust, or similar platforms.
- Experience with mobile attribution, MMPs, SKAN, paid acquisition analytics, or multi-touch attribution is a major plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with executives, product leaders, marketers, engineers, and data teams.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving, lean environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Practical interest in AI tools and automation.
Ideal Background
You may be a strong fit if you have worked in:
- Consumer mobile apps
- Subscription products
- Consumer marketplaces
- Health/wellness, fitness, meditation, sleep, or digital health products
- Growth-stage startups
- Product-led consumer software businesses
- Analytics consulting followed by in-house product/growth analytics
The strongest candidates will likely be current Analytics Managers, Senior Analytics Managers, Directors of Analytics, Product Analytics Leads, Growth Analytics Leads, or Data Analytics Leads who are ready to own the function without needing a large team underneath them.
Not a Fit
This is probably not the right role for someone who is:
- A pure data engineer
- A pure machine learning/data science researcher
- A VP/SVP-level leader who wants to manage a large organization
- Looking for a large team, heavy process, or big-company structure
- Mostly focused on backend data infrastructure rather than business/product/growth analytics
Compensation & Logistics
- Base salary: $200K–$250K
- Remote: United States
- Full-time
Why This Role Is Exciting
This is a rare opportunity to lead analytics for a beloved consumer wellness product with a massive user base, strong brand recognition, and the backing of a stable public healthcare company. You’ll have direct access to Product, Marketing, and executive leadership, a small but capable team to manage, and the mandate to shape how data drives the next phase of growth.
