About the Role
You’ll work on backend systems that power financial products used by thousands of customers. Engineers here operate with high autonomy, contribute to architecture decisions, and help scale systems as the company continues to grow.

What You’ll Do
- Own backend services from design through deployment
- Build scalable APIs and services powering financial products
- Design and implement backend architecture on AWS
- Ship production code frequently while maintaining quality
- Make pragmatic technical tradeoffs between speed and scalability
- Help define engineering best practices
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams
Tech Stack
- Backend: Node.js (TypeScript), Python
- Cloud: AWS
- Frontend: React / Next.js
- Data: Postgres, DynamoDB
- Infrastructure: Docker, Terraform
Experience with similar stacks is welcome.
What They’re Looking For
- 3+ years backend engineering experience
- Experience building backend systems at a startup or fast-moving product company
- Strong experience with Node.js or Python
- Experience building APIs and scalable services
- AWS or similar cloud experience
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
- Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments
Nice to Have
- Fintech or payments experience
- Experience with AI development tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.)
- Experience working at early-stage startups
- Experience scaling backend systems
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $180K–$250K
