Product Engineer – Healthcare AI

Location: Remote, United States
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $140–215K plus equity

About the Company

Our client is a well-funded healthcare technology company building AI agents that reduce administrative work and allow clinicians to spend more time caring for patients. Its platform goes beyond medical documentation to support workflows such as billing, clinical-trial matching, and other complex healthcare operations.

The company has raised more than $60 million from leading technology investors and is trusted by major healthcare systems and specialty-care organizations throughout the United States.

About the Role

We are seeking a Product Engineer who thrives in a fast-moving, rapidly scaling environment. You will help build the full-stack foundation of real-time, LLM-powered workflows that save clinicians hours of documentation and administrative work.

This is a generalist engineering role for someone comfortable moving between backend services, web applications, AI integrations, infrastructure, and other parts of the product as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and implement core features for a real-time, LLM-powered healthcare platform.
  • Build and improve user-facing experiences such as onboarding, note customization, and real-time clinical insights.
  • Develop across the stack using technologies including Python, TypeScript, React, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with product, design, clinical subject-matter experts, and go-to-market teams.
  • Work directly with end users to understand their workflows and deliver products they will adopt.
  • Help establish best practices for building reliable, secure, and scalable AI-first applications.
  • Move quickly while maintaining a high standard for code quality, security, and user experience.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience building full-stack, client-facing software products.
  • Proficiency with Python and/or TypeScript and React.
  • Interest in working across the stack rather than specializing in only one area.
  • Experience building or integrating AI- or LLM-powered product features.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to translate user needs into technical solutions.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions, architecture, and trade-offs clearly.
  • Experience using AI development tools effectively while maintaining ownership of code quality and technical decisions.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and an eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with healthcare technology, EHR integrations, or clinical documentation.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, sensitive data, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience building and deploying mobile applications.
  • Experience deploying and managing applications within AWS.
  • Familiarity with real-time systems, streaming architecture, or audio-based applications.

Location

This is a remote position within the United States. Candidates located in the Bay Area may also work from the company’s San Francisco office.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $140–$215K, depending on experience, skill level, location, and internal equity.
  • Meaningful equity.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Work-from-home stipend.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) and additional employee benefits.
