Our client is a venture-backed B2B software company modernizing how businesses exchange critical supply chain data. Its cloud platform helps companies connect with trading partners, automate complex integrations, and replace manual workflows with scalable software.
The company is hiring senior engineers to own backend architecture, product delivery, and production reliability. AI coding agents are part of everyday development. Success requires strong engineering fundamentals, product judgment, and the ability to direct, review, test, and improve AI-generated code.
What you'll do
- Own substantial product initiatives from technical design through deployment and ongoing operation.
- Build scalable APIs, microservices, and data-intensive backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design reliable distributed systems, event-driven services, and durable workflows.
- Translate ambiguous customer problems into clear requirements, specifications, and implementation plans.
- Use AI coding agents throughout development while remaining accountable for architecture, correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Improve agent workflows through better context, tooling, evaluations, and feedback loops.
- Strengthen testing, CI/CD, observability, and production debugging as development speed increases.
- Partner with product and other teams to prioritize work against customer outcomes and business goals.
- Mentor engineers, communicate decisions clearly, and contribute to the technical roadmap.
What you'll bring
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial ownership of backend systems and customer-facing products.
- Experience at a growth-stage product company, including scaling enterprise products beyond early adoption.
- Deep production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, API design, and microservices.
- Experience building and operating high-volume, data-intensive platforms.
- Strong distributed systems fundamentals and experience with messaging or workflow technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Temporal, DBOS, or comparable tools.
- Working knowledge of React and JavaScript, plus experience with relational and non-relational databases.
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents to develop, review, test, and ship production software responsibly.
- Strong debugging and system design skills, with sound judgment about where AI, deterministic software, and human review belong.
- Clear communication, product curiosity, and the ability to work independently while keeping teammates informed.
Helpful experience
- EDI, supply chain, logistics, enterprise integrations, or other complex B2B workflows.
- Building agentic workflows, MCP integrations, or developer tooling.
- Authentication and authorization systems, including SSO, OAuth, and RBAC.
- NestJS, Nx, and AWS.
