Founding Backend Engineer (Platform) — Crypto Trading

Remote | $225-300K base + meaningful equity

We’re working with a small, highly experienced crypto team building a mobile-first trading platform for advanced, high-volume traders.

This is a true founding engineering seat. You’ll be one of three founding engineers and will own the core backend platform outside of money movement, taking the architecture from 0→1 and building systems designed to handle large data volumes, real-time market activity, and sudden traffic spikes.

What you’ll build

  • Integrate market, pricing, wallet, and blockchain data from third-party APIs into a reliable backend
  • Build in-house Solana and/or EVM blockchain indexing infrastructure
  • Build WebSocket fanout for live prices, positions, and market data
  • Design high-performance, cost-efficient data serving and caching using PostgreSQL and AWS/GCP
  • Lead backend architecture and platform feature development alongside the founder and product lead

What we’re looking for

  • Approximately 6–12 years of backend engineering experience; 8–12 is ideal
  • 2–3+ years of recent crypto experience
  • Experience building backend systems for a crypto exchange, DEX, wallet, brokerage, trading terminal, or similarly demanding product
  • Strong production expertise in Rust or Go
  • Hands-on experience indexing Solana or EVM on-chain data
  • Experience with WebSockets / real-time data at scale
  • PostgreSQL and AWS or GCP
  • Strong 0→1 ownership and comfort working in a very small, highly autonomous engineering team

Experience with high-usage consumer trading products is a major plus.
