Seeking a Senior Manager of Events who will play a pivotal role in the strategy, planning, and execution of high-impact events and sponsorships that elevate firm's brand and support firmwide business development objectives across U.S. markets. Working under the guidance of the current Senior Manager of Events, this role requires an experienced professional who can independently lead events, mentor junior team members, and contribute to process optimization and innovation. The Senior Manager will oversee key multi-practice events from concept to post-event debriefs and will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-caliber programs that drive engagement and results.
This position can be based in our Silicon Valley (CA), San Francisco (CA), or Santa Monica (CA) office locations and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both from home and at your designated office. The frequency of in-office work will be determined by business needs and guided by your department's directives. The Senior Manager must be willing and able to travel for events and be available for occasional evening and weekend programs.
Job Description:
Event Strategy & Execution:
- Independently lead planning, coordination, and execution of key firmwide and cross-practice events, including client-facing programs, attorney speaking engagements, and large-scale sponsorships.
- Partner with the current Senior Manager of Events and marketing leadership to ensure all events support firm priorities and market positioning.
- Represent the firm professionally on-site, managing logistics such as registration, setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown with minimal oversight.
- Contribute to the development of strategic event plans that align with practice and industry group goals.
Budget Management:
- Build, manage, and track event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while maintaining high-quality experiences.
- Flag any anticipated overages or unforeseen issues early and communicate proactively with marketing leadership.
Technology & Data:
- Leverage event management tools such as Splash, Salesforce, and Marketo for campaign execution, audience segmentation, and reporting.
- Collaborate on enhancing event tracking, metrics, and ROI reporting, ensuring accuracy and actionable insights.
- Support implementation of process improvements and team adoption of new tools and technologies.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Act as a mentor to junior events team members, offering guidance, training, and support in collaboration with the current Senior Manager of Events.
- Take ownership of teamwide process improvements and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
- Regularly share best practices and industry insights with the team to foster innovation and excellence.
- Support the ongoing development of scalable processes, playbooks, and templates to streamline event planning and execution.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Recommend enhancements to existing programs and identify opportunities for new events based on market trends and firm goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and implement solutions that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance attendee engagement.
- Participate in debriefs and lessons learned reviews, championing a culture of continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing Operations, the ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant event management experience. Law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; project management certification (e.g., PMP) a plus.
The anticipated range for this position is:
$138,000 - $206,250
