Events Coordinator

San Francisco, CA

Seeking a Marketing Events Coordinator to help develop, promote, and execute a wide range of branded and co-branded programs. These include webinars, CLE and thought leadership events, sponsorships, client entertainment, networking and appreciation events, retreats, practice group events, and initiatives aligned with firm-wide strategic goals, including diversity and alumni engagement. This position also supports strategic marketing projects designed to build the firm’s brand, promote new offerings, increase client and alumni engagement, and enhance the effectiveness of our event-related investments.

The Events Coordinator collaborates closely with the Marketing team, Recruiting, and Diversity & Inclusion to advance the firm’s marketing, business development, recruiting, and retention objectives.

This position can be based in our Silicon Valley (CA) or San Francisco (CA) office locations and offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both from home and at your designated office. The frequency of in-office work will be determined by business needs and guided by your department's directives. Occasional travel will be required in this role.


Job Description:

Marketing and Internal Events

  • Support the Events team in the planning and execution of a variety of internal and external events.
  • Coordinate and execute assigned events from start to finish, including invitation development, promotion, vendor management, logistics, on-site support, and post-event engagement and analysis.
  • Ensure events are executed on time, on budget, and in line with the firm’s brand standards.
  • Recommend improvements and contribute to the development of innovative event strategies by leveraging industry best practices.
  • Collaborate across offices and practice groups, including internal departments (e.g., FLEX, Diversity & Inclusion, Pro Bono) to align event strategy and logistics.
  • Assist in the creation and regular reporting of metrics to measure event ROI and enhance the efficiency of event operations.
  • Lead vendor selection and evaluation processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective partnerships.
Client Relations
  • Partner with attorneys and the Business Development team to execute impactful client-facing events, including appreciation and relationship-building activities.
  • Assist the Director with budgeting, ROI reporting, and performance evaluation for client-hosted experiences, including sporting events, client dinners, and social gatherings.

General Marketing and Team Support

  • Help manage the events and promotional items budget in collaboration with the Senior Manager of Events.
  • Process vendor invoices promptly, ensure additional budget approvals are obtained when necessary, and correctly categorize expenses.
  • Participate actively in departmental initiatives and assigned task forces.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong relationship-building skills with vendors and sponsorship partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with polished grammar, spelling, and proofreading.
  • Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines; a good sense of humor is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Self-starter with initiative, organization, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable interfacing directly with partners and senior leaders.
  • Knowledge of the technology and innovation industries (software, mobile, life sciences, cleantech) is helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with event management platforms is a plus.
  • Must be willing and able to travel and attend evening/weekend events as required.

Reporting to the Senior Events Manager, the qualified candidate will have 1-3 years of event coordination or meeting planning experience. Law firm or professional services experience a plus. Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred).


The anticipated range for this position is:

$68,000 - $95,750
