Senior Payroll Coordinator

As part of the Payroll Team, this position will perform a wide range of technical, analytical and functional tasks to ensure timely execution of the semi-monthly and supplemental payrolls using PeopleSoft and ADP systems for the domestic and expatriate employees.


Responsibilities
  • Process semi-monthly payroll using the PeopleSoft and ADP systems including but not limited to the following tasks
    • New Hires (tax forms and direct deposits
    • Terminations
    • Review and process overtime
    • Expatriate Payroll
    • Salary actions (regular and retroactive)
    • 401K loans
    • Garnishments 
    • Transitchek reconciliation
    • Health Club Reimbursement
  • Process supplemental and seasonal payrolls using the PeopleSoft and ADP systems including but not limited to the following tasks:
    • Annual processing (Summer and Fall Associates)
    • Year-end processing (including bonuses and increases)
    • Prepare taxable and non-taxable fringe benefit calculation for W-2 purposes
    • Statistics for Census Reporting
  • Assist with the transmittal of payroll files to ADP for funding, garnishments and tax requirements which includes the following processes:
    • Balancing the Payroll to ensure accuracy prior to the Payroll Confirmation
    • Run Payroll Confirmation
    • Run Payroll/GL Interface to record payroll amounts to the General Ledger
    • Perform regular reconciliations and validations on various payroll functions including the periodic Net Pay Reconciliation report
  • Assist with the preparation of the payments and schedules for the semi-monthly payroll funding, taxes, garnishments and 401k savings plans.
  • In addition, will assist with the following functions and ad hoc work as required:
    • Assist in the PeopleSoft and ADP testing for various tax and payroll system/table updates
    • Monitor and reconcile the various files and loads received in Payroll from various operational departments
    • Participate in the implementation of new payroll programs, projects and best practices
    • Assist in researching payroll laws and regulations as needed
    • Assist in the quarterly payroll processing function and various uploads to ADP
    • Involvement in all facets of the year-end and year-begin processes, balancing of reports and W-2 processing for the domestic and expatriate payrolls

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • College graduate with Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years Payroll processing (experience with PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Knowledge of US tax withholding laws and regulations a plus
  • Ability to create and run PeopleSoft payroll queries
  • Knowledge working with ADP SmartCompliance Portal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills (e.g. ability to create Pivot Tables and V-Lookups)
