The paralegal work consists of Estate, Trust, Personal, Not-for-Profit and Personal Real Estate matters.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Drafting petitions and the supporting documents for probate, ancillary probate, administration, accounting, appointment of a trustee and request of a trustee to resign
- Going to various Surrogate's Courts to file Wills, petitions and other papers
- Assisting Executors with the collection of estate assets
- Obtaining appraisals and valuations for estate tax purposes and collecting information for estate tax audits
- Preparing applications for federal and state releases of estate tax liens.
Education and/or experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Three to Five years’ experience in Estates & Personal
- Paralegal certificate with specialization of Trusts & Estates preferred
