The team operates with high technical rigor and values engineers who take ownership, move quickly, and care deeply about reliability and security. The founding and early team have a strong security and device-management background. with a prior exit at Series D sold to Apple.

About the Role
You’ll help architect and build the core backend systems that power our identity platform. This is a high-impact role on a small team, working across APIs, distributed systems, storage, and security-sensitive components. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product to deliver scalable, well-designed services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services.
• Design service-oriented architectures and distributed systems.
• Own API design, database schema modeling, and service integrations.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and contribute to our infrastructure tooling.
• Implement metrics, tracing, and alerting to ensure reliability.
• Work closely with product and engineering partners throughout development.

Experience & Tech Stack

Our stack includes Google Cloud, Go, Kubernetes, Postgres, GraphQL, Expo + React/React Native, and Tailwind. We use an API-driven model to keep the UI and backend fully aligned.
We don’t expect experience with everything — but we do expect strong fundamentals and a track record of building secure, scalable systems.

Strongly Preferred Experience

• Proficiency in Go
• Service-oriented architectures (SOA)
• Database schema design + raw SQL (ideally Postgres)
• CI/CD pipelines + Kubernetes
• Metrics, alerting, and request tracing

Bonus Experience (Nice-to-haves)

• Identity & access management protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC, WebAuthn)
• Familiarity with IT/security environments (MDM, Endpoint Security, etc.)
• Audit logging systems
• Compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, CCPA, GDPR)
• Certificate Authorities / PKI

• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment

Compensation Range
USD $180,000 – $230,000 (plus competitive equity)
