Benefits Analyst

Responsibilities
  • Reports data to vendors for benefits and COBRA administration and audits the same. Reconcile payments and billing. Completes reports for finance.
  • Assist active and retired employees with health, dental, and insurance claims resolutions.  Audit benefits data to ensure accuracy.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of benefit enrollment data and paying premiums invoices for all health and welfare vendors.
  • Reconcile vendor error reports and communicate enrollment updates needed in Workday or with vendors.
  • Responsible for the retiree billing and premium payment administration and reconciliation. Prepare the Finance department benefits billing report for active Partners.  Prepare and reconcile the semi-annual bills for retired partners.  Update retired Partner eligibility in Workday.
  • Responsible for active employees and Partner Health and Welfare plans premium billing and reconciliation.  Updating premium tracking spreadsheets.  Reconcile Partner payroll enrollments and deductions in Workday.  Prepare Partner Retirement packages.
  • Reconcile monthly self-insured claims and update budget projections for self-insured plan.  Provide financial reconciliation report to the finance department monthly.
  • Audits data entry into the Workday HRIS and troubleshoot any issues that may arise with processing of benefits transactions related to personnel actions such as new hires, terminations and promotions, transfers, and life events.
  • Coordinates Wellness Events, Pop-Up Clinic events, Blood Drive and Flu Shot program.
  • Assist with the updates to the annual Open Enrollment communications and benefits summaries.
  • Monitor and communicate with the employees regarding FSA forfeitures for year-end.
  • Assists with compliance under Health Care Reform, ACA reporting, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA and other benefit related policies and statutes.
  • Assist with the data reconciliation and the preparation of the health plan 5500’s.
  • Document and report Work Related incidents and injuries, prepare annual OSHA and Workers Compensation filing when required.
  • Primary Support on the benefits customer service line and benefits email mailbox.
  • Assist with the testing of new benefits in Workday and with the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Process Partner life insurance age-reductions in Workday.
  • Provides backup assistance to the Pension Administrator for administration of the defined contribution plans provide support for preparation of the annual documentation required for the cash balance plan discrimination testing, plan audits, 5500 preparation, audit employee/partner eligibility and contributions for 401(k)/and partner DC plan, audit eligibility for employee retirement plan.
  • Provides back-up assistance for commuter benefit program and supplemental disability programs.
  • Provide back-up assistance to Benefits Manager regarding leaves of absence processes for all offices in relation to statutory sick leave, FMLA, STD, LTD, ADA and reasonable accommodations, WC and other firm approved leaves.
  • Serves as backup to conduct benefits orientation for all administrative employees in the New York office and processes ongoing benefits enrollment; assists with annual testing of data in preparation for benefits open enrollment; acts as the benefits liaison for the coordinate office managers.Other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time to time.


Qualifications
  • A High School degree is required; A bachelor’s or advanced degree with an emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred.  A professional benefits certification is desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years' of benefits administration experience.  Working knowledge of qualified plans, self-insured health plans, FMLA and other mandatory leave plans, and other benefits plan is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel, Word and HRIS systems (preferably Workday).
  • Must be an enthusiastic team player.
